Year of the Mother Fall Tour Comes to Stand Up Live October 26
THE PUMP AND DUMP ANNOUNCES THE FALL DATES OF THEIR NATIONAL “YEAR OF THE MOTHER” PARENTALLY INCORRECT COMEDY TOUR, BRINGING LAUGHTER AND VALIDATION TO EXHAUSTED AND OVERWHELMED MOMS ACROSS AMERICA
Moms! Book your sitters! The Pump and Dump show is coming to town - it’s time to get out of the house, for once! Shayna Ferm and her sidekick MC Doula (aka Tracey Tee) host this outrageous, irreverent, raucous celebration of the trials of parenthood with comedy, music, games, prizes, drinking, swearing and commiseration.
On October 26th, the Pump and Dump will bring the Fall continuation of their wildly popular “Year of the Mother” national tour to Stand Up Live in Phoenix, AZ. The tour will continue on to Denver, Salt Lake, Phoenix, Seattle and Nashville, to name few. Moms across America (and even dads) will have the opportunity to raise their glasses and experience the kindred spirit of parenthood. The moment Shayna and Tracey hit the stage, they invoke boisterous laughter from an audience buzzing with anticipation of a fun night out with friends after being held captive in their own homes by the blessings and frustrations of raising a family.
Ferm and Tee declared 2016 the “Year of the Mother” in an effort to encourage moms to be kinder to one another and themselves. They are spending the year challenging moms to tell each other that they are awesome (they pass out handfuls of free “mom karma” cards at the show) and join together and declare as a group that raising humans is hard, but easier when parents support each other. Check out their Instagram page to see how their #BandOfMothers movement is bringing moms together.
Since 2012, The Pump and Dump show has given moms the perfect reason to gather their #BREEDER friends, celebrate a mom-to-be, or even treat an exhausted girlfriend to her first night out postpartum. Original music includes songs like “Eat Your F-ing Food” and “When I Die, I Want to Come Back as a Dad.” Audience members play one of a kind games like "Stump the Breeder" and "The Most F-ed Up Thing Your Kid Did This Week”, to win bottles of wine and other fantastic prizes from local and national sponsors. Shows sell out weeks – even months – in advance, proving that The Pump and Dump show is THE most sought after moms’ night out.
“We don’t bash our kids. We don’t bash our husbands,” says Tracey Tee. “But we get to be the jerks on stage. We’re the ones saying the things you think during the day but never say out loud. There’s a lot of laughing about sex and poop and throw-up; you can get it out of your system and go back to being a great parent.”
Whether it’s the gut-busting laughs, the kick-ass music, the unexpected prizes, or simply the much-needed commiseration and validation, it’s no wonder Parents Magazine, Popsugar Moms, Baby Rabies, Scary Mommy, and even George Takei rave about The Pump and Dump and its message.
“We use The Pump and Dump show as a vehicle to finally say what moms are afraid to admit: Parenting is HARD and can be pretty ridiculous. Our mission is to spread generosity and humor, mom to mom, because we’re all just doing the best we can. Our show lets us laugh about all the really messed up stuff we encounter day-to-day, and our hope is that we can help moms realize that none of us are alone.” – Shayna Ferm
“MC Doula and Shayna dared to take an unflinching look at the reality of raising small children. I laughed throughout the entire show and found myself struggling to catch my breath. The Pump and Dump offered me a lifeline. It was honest. It was raw. And it was damn funny.” – Billy Kilgore (Stay at Home Dad, Writer) on Scary Mommy
“If you are lucky enough to be in or near a city they are coming to, I 100% recommend getting tickets and taking as many friends as you can. There is so so so much to die laughing at.” – Jill Krause, Baby Rabies (www.babyrabies.com),
“I had an absolute BLAST seeing the Pump and Dump last night with friends. If their show comes to your area, I HIGHLY recommend going. It’s a great hour-and-half to laugh with other moms.” – Jamie Grayson, The Baby Guy (@thebabyguynyc).
