The Arizona Renaissance Festival

Apache Junction, located about 40 minutes east of Phoenix, is the home of the Arizona Renaissance Festival. Running from February to about the end of March during weekends each year, this Renaissance Festival features plenty of food, games, rides, an artisan marketplace, entertainers and jousting. See actors in period costumes in a variety of shows or come in costume yourself! Starting in early February and running till late March, the Arizona Renaissance Festival continues strong every year with fun for the whole family.

Parking is free at the festival and discount tickets are often available at local grocers. Check online for special offers. Revelers can see all the themed excitement, including the Tournament Jousting and the Birds of Prey shows. Also, featured in the festival are vendors selling food, drinks and arts and crafts. Come in costume or rent one at the Costume Shoppe located near the box office. Prices will vary upon the costume. Mingle with Fireflicker the Dragon, Lady Prudence the Court Composer, Captain Francis Drake, The Angels and many more entertainers. Cheer on as the knights joust for their lady’s honor and the Queen’s favor. Tournaments are held three times a day in the jousting arena.

Participate in games of skills against other festival attendees in games such as target-shooting and paintball battles, or testing your physical prowess at the Climbing Tower. Ride the Assault Catapult, the Piccolo Pony, Da Vinci’s Flying Machine or the Dragon’s Tower Slide. There’s something for everyone to participate in at the Arizona Renaissance Festival.

Shop many of the artisan stalls featuring beautiful handcraft wares ranging from jewelry and chain mail to candles and art. To satisfy your hunger, the food vendors will have you feasting all day long. The King’s Kitchen serves everything from turkey legs to pizza or meatballs, while the Cappuccino Inn will quench your thirst with specialty coffees, Italian sodas and teas.
